Credentials

L. Gordon Brewer, Jr. has a Master of Education degree in counseling with
a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy.  He is a Licensed Marital
and Family Therapist. Gordon is a Clinical  Member of the American
Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. Gordon has had extensive
experience in working with individuals and families during times of stress
and transition.  Gordon uses a systemic approach that focuses on changing
interaction patterns that tend to prevent people from living successful and
happy lives.

Gordon is also an ordained minister in the Episcopal Church (Vocational
Deacon). "As I tell the people I work with; I am obviously connected with
the Church and sometimes wear a 'funny collar'. Nonetheless, I make it a
point to NOT push any sort of religious agenda, unless those are issues that
the client(s) want to address in therapy; one's spiritual life is a very
personal thing. I do believe, however, that a person's spiritual life can be a
path for healing; I also believe there are many different paths for seeking a
spiritual life..."
